things are looking..and feeling nice this morning. greg bennett joins us to let us know if the warm temperatures another day of on-and-off cloud cover for the las vegas valley. winds will be mildly breezy between 5 and 15 mph with an occasional gust around 20 mph. high temperatures remain several degrees above normal; ranging between 87 and 91 degrees. wednesday and thursday yield high pressure centering more over the southwest than the four corners with will allow for mostly sunny skies and

on the victims. traffic here was at a standstill for hours yesterday-- as they investigated the scene. the backup was miles down this road. officials say-- the truck was passing through a construction site-- where crews are expanding blue diamond road. but they say the dump truck driver started to experience brake problems-- he lost control of t crashed into the couple driving inside the motorhome. that couple-- both in their 70s-- here from germany. troopers say the dump truck was carrying a load of concrete-- so thats potentially a lot of extra weight as the runaway truck was going down that hill.

commute-- lanes are back open-- but there is still the construction. mk-- 13an. overnight, we learned a person died in a house fire... in sparks. firefighters say they arrived to the home yesterday--- fully engulfed in flames. the person was found dead inside a bedroom. the victim's name has has not been released... and firefighters are still trying to figure out why the fire started. (sot) "takes a lot to come here so, i don' a mom has turned to 13 action news after she says she was randomly attacked at a local park. police are looking for that attacker this morning...someone the victim says is a complete stranger. "i got the black eye, i got the bloody nose." "(i still see the bruise right there) yea. "it's hard to breathe, they think i might have broke a rib." angie johansson says the attacked happened on september 29th near fort apache and maule. she claims the strager came up

breaking news -- reports now indicate that a faulty air-conditioning system may be the cause of this fire in berlin. fire and smoke was seen rising from the europacenter tower in berlin this morning around 68 firefighters are at the scene, according to focus magazine. a 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with that stabbing of a real estate

charges including battery with a deadly weapon for the september attack near lake mead and civic center drive. the victim, ryan vega, remains in the hospital with serious injuries. meanwhile, a viewer has sent us new video of that massive high school brawl that went down after a football game. this morning, police are asking the community's help in making sure a fight like this doesn't happen again. detectives are trying to track down the attackers in this wild video. it shows how bad things got at the in 'n' out and raising canes after the game between arbo at least four people were hurt, including one girl who suffered serious injuries. extra security has been on-hand at centennial this week...as metro and c-c-s-d police try to track down those responsible. time now is x:xx --- coming up.. a brutal attack. this man is accused of beating a henderson woman. we'll tell you police found her..and what the suspect did that made it easy for them catch him. and later in this newscast..

there's a pretty big fire... this is at the former exxonmobile refinery near los angeles california. this is in torrance...that's right outside of l-a... power is out at the refineray and the surrounding area... this man is in custody this morning accused of viciously assaulting a henderson woman. mattingly attacked the woman last friday afternoon near paseo verde and desert shadow. the victim was laying on a sidewalk, bleeding when police arrived. police tell us mattingly also tried to steal the car of a person who tried to help the woman. he took off but went back to the scene and was arrested. the victim was transported to sunrise hospital. her condition isn't clear right now. right now.. three people are in the hospital, two in critical

we kept him active." the victim was flown to a portland hopsital and is expected to be okay. others have put up a makeshift sign warning others not to go into the waters. new this morning.. an interesting report has revealed the united states isn't the best the place to be if you're a girl. according to "save the children" the u-s finished 32nd among 1- hundred-44 countries on the list. countries including algeria and kazakhstan ranked higher than the u-s. part is blamed on low levels of women in government. the report also studied rates of early marriage, fertility rates and secondary school completion. sweden was the best place for young females to live. the 10 countries at the bottom of the ranking are in africa. c-c-s-d is collaborating with the city of las vegas in building the first public pre-school in the valley. renovations are underway at the building that will house the "strong start academy" in downtown las vegas.

consist of 90 students and the school hopes to grown from there. the academy is aimed at kids who come from low income homes. sot mayor there is no reason why every child in the state of nevada with proper preschooling can't be reading by the time they enter kindergarten thats what we want. the mayor says the project will cost 2-point-5 million dollars which will come out of the city's speical projects fund. vm parents are now able to catch a glimpse, and even a taste, int on a daily basis at their schools. c-c-s-d is offering tours of their "food service facility" and are asking parents for their feedback. the school district says parents should have a say in what is being provided to their child. so far, this open door policy of the cafeteria is becoming a big hit. we're always looking for ways to save money and get a better quality product out there after parents and students take a tour of the facility, and sample the food, they take a survey. the survey ranks the school's
